Rekeying
New keys without new locks
You don’t need new locks every time you need new keys. When we rekey a lock, we take the cylinder apart and replace the small pins inside so it works with a new key. Your deadbolts, handles and finish stay exactly the same.
We can also key your doors alike, so the front door, back door and garage entry all work with one key, as long as the locks share a compatible keyway.

How long does rekeying take?
Each lock only takes a few minutes, so most homes can be rekeyed in a single visit.
Can every lock be rekeyed?
Most standard pin-tumbler locks can. Some very old, damaged or specialty locks can’t, and we’ll recommend a replacement if needed.
Can you make all my locks use one key?
Yes, if the locks share a compatible keyway, which usually means the same brand. If they don’t match, we can replace a cylinder or lock so everything works with one key.
Should I rekey after buying a home?
Yes. Previous owners, builders, contractors, neighbors and real estate agents may all still have keys.
